Weekly Wisdom 3.11.17

Like me, many of you are going through a season or a situation where you feel stuck. You’ve been praying for God to move and to work in your situation, but nothing seems to be happening. You feel worn out and unhinged.

Sometimes God doesn’t answer our prayers because the greater work is in us, not in our circumstance. God is concerned about the condition of our hearts above all else. The work that He does in our hearts far exceeds any other work.

Although, what you are facing is challenging, uncomfortable and painful, and you feel as those you are at your wit’s end – Take heart. When you come out on the other side of this – and you will – you will be refined, strengthened, and you will have a greater perspective of who God is, who you are, and what you are called to do.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. || James 1:2-4

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. || 2 Corinthians 4:15-17

God is bringing us in to a deeper level: A greater awareness of His presence, a greater intimacy with Him, a greater understanding of who we are and a greater boldness to go after Him and His people for His Kingdom. Although, our circumstances may look the same, our hearts and perspectives will be renewed as He brings us from one level to the next. He is bringing us from Glory to Glory until we look more like Him. We must become more like Him.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. || 2 Corinthians 3:18
